With wonderful humour and brilliant illustrations, this is a joy of a book.
Claude is a delightful character whose resourcefulness and joie de vivre will appeal to both youngsters and adults. Clever use of colour and typography brings the story and its characters to life, and offers plenty of opportunity for noisy interaction.
For a child who loves a good laugh, Claude All At Sea is a sweet, funny, colourfully illustrated story
A real corker ... writer-illustrator Smith carefully introduces little children to new words and sounds (whoosh) and fired their imaginations with a surprisingly friendly sea monster ... I particularly liked the hat and bow tie that Nigel wears
For emerging readers I recommend the Claude books by Alex T. Smith...with easy-to-follow text, a playful layout and humorous illustrations
