Quickfire Q&A… with Eliza Wass

Eliza Wass, author of The Life and Death Parade answers a few of our quickfire questions…

 

  1. When I was 5 years old I wanted to be… a Husky. Yes, the dog. Jack London messed me up.
  2. If I were to be stranded on a desert island, my one luxury item would be… A really complicated book. I would get stuck in and forget about the island completely.
  3. The book I’ve read the most times… Stephen King’s It or Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. Seemingly dissimilar titles but they’re both episodic and they work because you believe in the love and friendship between the ensemble cast.
  4. The book I always recommend to others… The Secret History.
  5. The last time I went to the cinema… I saw Ready Player One with my nephew.
  6. My choice of superpower… The ability to write books that are as awesome on the page as they are in my mind.
  7. The one piece of advice I would give my teenage self… Bad feelings don’t last forever.
  8. If I had to choose between saying everything I think or never speaking again… I basically say everything I think now and it definitely makes things exciting.
  9. My favourite city in the world… London for personal reasons but I love visiting new places.
  10. The person I call when I need cheering up… I read a book.
  11. The best thing about being a writer… You live your life always believing the best is yet to come.
  12. The Hogwarts house I belong to is… Gryffindor wishing I were Slytherin.
