1. When I was 5 years old I wanted to be…

A pirate! I was very keen on owning a tricorn hat.

  1. The book I’ve read the most times…

When I was small(er…I’m still pretty short) I read and reread The Chronicles of Narnia until I could practically recite them. And then I’d put the audiobooks on repeat while my family waved their arms and shouted “NO!” a lot. But there’s no such thing as too much Narnia, right?!

  1. The book I always recommend to others…

My most favourite series is The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater and I’m always  begging people to read them.

  1. The last song I listened to…

Believer by Imagine Dragons.

  1. The item I have more of than anything else…

Books! I possibly have over 500 of them…

  1. The thing I could never give up…

Chocolate! Is it possible to write a novel without eating chocolate?! I think not.

  1. The one piece of advice I would give my teenage self…

There is absolutely no point in trying to write the “perfect” novel the first time. Just write what excites you. Write copiously. Write for yourself. And put more cake in your books. Everyone will be happier.

  1. If I had to choose between saying everything I think or never speaking again…

So easy! I’m already extremely quiet so I’d pick never speaking again.

  1. The best thing about being a writer…

Being able to create whole worlds and characters out of nothing. It’s pure magic. Also having a reader say “nooo you made me cry!” because that means you turned words into emotions. See?! More proof of magic.

  1. The Hogwarts house I belong to is…

I’m a Slytherin with a tiny bit of Hufflepuff squished in there somewhere.
